Position Summary
The Director, US Communications will support the development and execution of strategic product and portfolio communications initiatives to advance Genmab's reputation and visibility across the United States. This role will lead communications strategy and execution for the oncology portfolio, including key brand initiations in the US, employee engagement, thought leadership, and media relations, working in close partnership with brand leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure effective and aligned communications that support and advance business priorities.In addition to brand communications leadership, the Director will contribute to broader US communications initiatives that strengthen Genmab's visibility, reputation, and engagement with internal and external audiences. This role will collaborate closely with both the US Commercialization and Communications & Corporate Affairs functions to ensure consistent messaging and effective pull-through of enterprise priorities in the US market.The position will report to the Head of US Communications.Work arrangement: This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%-40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager and will be based in the Genmab offices in Princeton, New Jersey.Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic communications plans for hematology portfolio, working in close partnership with brand leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Serve as the primary communications partner for hematology portfolio, providing strategic counsel on communications strategies, messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and execute branded, unbranded, and above-brand communications initiatives that support the commercial success of the portfolio in the US.
- Partner with R&D Communications to support the communication of scientific data milestones and pipeline developments relevant to assigned brands.
- Support initiatives that elevate Genmab's visibility and reputation in the US through media engagement, thought leadership, and digital communications.
- Support the development and execution of internal communications initiatives that engage employees and reinforce company priorities within the US market.
- Provide communications counsel to cross-functional teams and support messaging development for major announcements, milestones, and corporate initiatives.
- Collaborate closely across the Communications & Corporate Affairs team to ensure global communications strategies and narratives are effectively implemented in the US market.
- Support issues and crisis communication efforts affecting the US market, ensuring coordinated and timely responses.
- Define KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate the impact of communications activities and inform future strategies.
- Manage agency partners and communications budgets supporting US brand communications initiatives.
- Position includes approximately 20% domestic and international travel.
- Experienced communications strategist with a minimum of 12 years of experience in biopharmaceutical communications and at least three years of experience in US brand/product communications, preferably in oncology.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex science or business concepts for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communications programs that support product or brand objectives.
- Strong understanding of the US healthcare and biopharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory and policy considerations.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, web, and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of and interest in maximizing communications through generative AI tools.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least two years of experience in executive/leader communications.
- Experience managing internal and external communications, including thought leadership and employee engagement initiatives.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$195,200.00---$292,800.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
