Department Overview
Leveraging the extensive resources of the Rakuten Group, Rakuten Insight Global provides high-quality online market research services to clients outside of Japan. As the Global Headquarters overseeing 11 strategic locations worldwide, we are driving a powerful expansion into the global market from our base in Japan.
Our greatest competitive advantage lies in our proprietary panel data infrastructure-one of the largest in the Asian region. Moving forward, we will further accelerate the development of next-generation research products by maximizing the potential of this unique asset.
Specifically, we will not only focus on the global rollout of advanced data and AI-driven products originally developed in Japan, but also concentrate on "Global First" product development. This involves identifying local market needs and emerging trends early to create innovative products from the ground up that have yet to be introduced in the Japanese market.

Leveraging one of Asia's largest monitor bases, we are currently experiencing steady growth in our core business of "sample supply," which provides research companies with survey participants.
At the same time, market needs are rapidly diversifying, with the rise of AI and increasing demand for quick research, making the development of in-house products to respond to these needs an urgent issue.
To thrive in this period of change, we have established a new "Product Strategy and Development Group" in January 2026, directly reporting to our executives. We are seeking a core member (potential manager) to work directly with our executives and regional managers around the world, and to powerfully promote new product development with a sense of speed that is directly linked to management decisions.

You will join as a core member of the "Product Strategy & Development Group," a newly established unit launched in January 2026. Being part of the team since its inception means you will have significant autonomy and responsibility, from high-level strategic planning to hands-on execution. From our Global Headquarters, you will lead product development initiatives that involve and influence our offices worldwide.

Position Details
Your primary role will be to drive global expansion by localizing research products successfully launched in Japan to fit the market characteristics and needs of each region. Simultaneously, you will analyze unique local needs and market trends to develop "Global-First" products that have not yet been introduced in Japan. We expect you to build a robust product portfolio with a flexible and proactive mindset.
Key Duties
- Product Assessment & Selection:
Analyze the features and performance of products deployed in Japan to evaluate their "Market Fit" for overseas regions. Identify target countries and segments based on strategic priority.
- Business Roadmap Development:
Calculate market size (TAM/SAM) for each target region, conduct revenue simulations, and formulate medium- to long-term business plans.
- Global Operations Design:
Collaborate with the operations team in India to establish post-release workflows and support systems, ensuring global scalability.
- Product Growth Support:
Manage post-launch KPIs, provide marketing support to each region, and drive continuous product improvement based on stakeholder and user feedback.

Team Structure:
Product Strategy & Development Group: 1 manager, 4 members
Each individual plays a significant role, and their output directly contributes to business growth.

Most members are in their late 20s to late 30s
Organizational Positioning:
As a newly established unit reporting directly to the executive board, you will work in close proximity to senior management. This unique positioning allows you to drive projects while gaining first-hand experience in high-level decision-making processes at the forefront of our global strategy.
Team Background
The group consists of members with diverse professional backgrounds, including specialists responsible for data products in the Japanese market and experts who have led the design and implementation of operations for our global locations.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Qualifications (Skills & Experience)
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in Product Planning, Business Development, or Project Management.
- Language Proficiency: Proven experience utilizing English for business purposes.
- Leadership: Experience managing a team of 5 or more members.
