Company Overview
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) is a membership organization serving educators committed to empowering connected learners in a connected world. ISTE serves more than 100,000 education stakeholders throughout the world (www.iste.org).
Innovative offerings include the widely adopted ISTE Standards for learning, teaching and leading in the digital age (www.iste.org/standards) – as well as the ISTE Conference & Expo – the world’s most comprehensive edtech event (www.isteconference.org). The organization’s robust suite of professional learning resources feature online courses, consulting services for schools and districts, books, and peer-reviewed journals and publications.
Company History
ISTE is a 501(c)3 organization, formed in 1989 when ICCE (the International Council for Computers in Education) merged with IACE (the International Association for Computing in Education). With its parent organizations, ICCE and IACE, ISTE has been serving technology-using educators with a base in Eugene since 1979. In 2002, ISTE merged with the National Educational Computing Association, the supporting nonprofit behind the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), held annually since 1979.
ISTE serves association members from its offices in Portland, OR and Arlington, VA.

ISTE Conference & Expo
For more than three decades, the ISTE Conference & Expo has been the premier forum in which to learn, exchange, and survey the field of education technology. The conference is the most comprehensive of its kind and attracts upwards of 18,000 attendees and industry representatives from around the globe. Education Technology Standards
The ISTE Standards (formerly the NETS) are the definitive framework for successfully implementing digital strategies to positively impact learning, teaching and leading in our technology-powered world. Advocacy
ISTE is dedicated to bringing the voice of educators to policymakers regarding education technology and digital age learning. With the help of our membership we have successfully influenced policymakers from school board members to federal legislators.
